Trail tolerance

Both hikers and mountain bikers share unrestricted use of the same trails in Davos Klosters. This is only possible if both sides take a tolerant and considerate attitude. Mountain bikers slow to walking pace when overtaking and stop at crossing points on narrow trails to make way for hikers. And hikers also accept that mountain bikers have an equal right to use the trails and make way at meeting points where possible and practical.

Davos Klosters puts priority on trail tolerance

Trail-Rules:

  • Always wear gloves and a helmet.
  • Only ride a bike that is technically faultless. Check your material regularly.
  • Keep fit and never overestimate your ability.
  • Always keep to the rules of the road.
  • Show consideration for plants and animals and only use existing roads and trails. Do not leave roads and trails.
  • Never leave litter in the natural world.
  • Show consideration to hikers and pedestrians, be friendly and dismount from your bike if necessary.
  • Never race downhill like a daredevil. When hikers approach, reduce to a suitable speed.
  • Always close gates and electric fences after you.
  • Follow directives and signage from the police as well as from military, forestry and railway personnel.
